Metal Assault is a new arcade-style wave-based shooter that has been released on Steam. It features impressive graphical environment with presentation that’s rather similar to Bullet Sorrow. In this indie title, you will be defending yourself against waves of military-based enemies in some sort of a sci-fi facility. You move around by teleportation, but the movement system is rather restricted. First, you can only teleport after the entire wave of enemies has been defeated.
Secondly, you can only teleport to the specific location that the game has designated. While you can shift your body to avoid the bullets, you cannot teleport to a safe spot (eg behind a cover) freely for cover. In addition, if the enemies are far from you, you cannot teleport nearer to it for an easier kill, which makes the game rather difficult in some instances. You are wearing a helmet in this game, which explains all the HUD displays that you see. Your remaining health is indicated in the middle of the screen, as well as the life bars above the enemies. Even your remaining ammo is also displayed as a little virtual hud on the weapons themselves. In addition, the enemies are highlighted in red, so you can easily tell their location, even if they are behind cover.
All of these information are great and fits well with the arcade-intended purpose of the game.At times, you can also find explosive barrels which explode when you fire at it, easy when you wants to take out an enemies crowd.Metal Assault also offers 2 weapons: an Assault Rifle and a Shotgun, which you can reload by pressing the trackpad. To sum it up, this is an arcade-based title that will take 30 minutes to complete, provided you didn’t die. Don’t expect much story though, but if you are looking for a quick play experience, do check out this game.Title: Metal AssaultGenre: Action, ShooterDeveloper: bitBergPublisher: bitBergVR Support: HTC VivePlay Area: Standing, Room-ScaleLink: Tagged,.
